2016 Canada’s Real Estate Trends
A publication released jointly by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and The Urban Land Institute (ULI) titled “Emerging Trends in Real Estate” for Canada and the United States 2016 outlined a number of trends in the Canadian real estate market. The report highlighted a number of trends, among which are the following:
- A stronger US dollar might drive some demand from south of the border.
- Lower oil prices didn’t have a major impact on the real estate market.
- Global investors continue to see Canada as a safe haven for their capital and the lower Canadian exchange rate is making it more lucrative.
- A rising number of Canadians are choosing to rent rather than buy and it’s a trend that is expected to continue and create new opportunities across the country.
